Morecambe Winter Gardens

Morecambe Winter Gardens: Marine Road Central, Morecambe, Lancashire, LA4 4BU

Recently seen on BBC’s ‘Eric and Ernie’ and featured on Most Haunted! Fantastic for ghost hunts!

We invite you to join us for an overnight ghost hunt in the fabulous Morecambe Winter Gardens – a must see location for any serious Ghost Hunter.

MWGsmallSituated on the beautiful Morecambe promenade and with a history spanning over 100 years this old theatre has a wealth of areas that are just asking to be investigated! Starting life in the 1870’s Morecambe Winter Gardens has seen various changes in both name and purpose over the years – previously a public swimming baths (the remnants of which lie in the pitch black of the basement area) before becoming a theatre and ballroom – parts of which have now been demolished – is reputed to be half good… and half evil…

This location is reputedly one of Lancashire’s most haunted buildings and has been MWGBoxessmallextremely active previously and we advise that anyone of a nervous disposition exercise caution before embarking on ghost hunts here due to the nature of the results both our investigators and past investigations have encountered. Voices have been heard, sometimes only in one person’s ear ; bangs, knocks and footsteps are frequently heard. Strange draughts and shadows have also been reported regularly; along with people feeling unwell and describing being touched by unseen hands. This can be an unsettling location to be at; but one that can provide excellent results!

The Winter Gardens are in a state of disrepair and as such can be quite chilly so make sure you wrap up warm as the temperature can drop rapidly in the darkness of the night. We have to thank the hard work of The Friends of The Winter Gardens who took over the care of this fantastic building in 1986, for allowing us exclusive access to this location – will you be brave enough to join us on a haunted event with the Spirits of The Winter Gardens?

Lancaster Grand Theatre

Lancaster Grand Theatre:  St Leonardgate, Lancaster, LA1 1NL

A fantastic venue for paranormal investigators, the Lancaster Grand Theatre is said to be the oldest Theatre in North West England having been in use since 1782, although it has not always been known under the same name.  It opened simply as The Theatre – and was renamed following a fire.Grandmall

The interior was destroyed by fire in 1908 but less than a year later The Grand reopened under the name it is known by today and has been recently and lovingly restored back to the glory of the early 20th Century.

With a building of this age the reports of hauntings and paranormal activity are abundant.  Staff have reported seeing a chair move of its own accord and light anomalies are regularly LancasterBalconySmallreported here.  Late night temperature drops along with orbs are often experienced during investigations at this location.

Could you find out who occupies the chair? Is it the ghost of the original architect, distraught that his designs were destroyed by fire? Or could it be a theatre-goer reluctant to leave until they have seen the final act? Join us on an overnight investigation of this unique location!

Ruthin Gaol

Ruthin Gaol:  Clwyd Street, Ruthin, Denbighshire, LL15 1HP

We invite you to spend an evening ghost hunting with us at the fantastic Ruthin Gaol – the only Pentonville style prison open to the public!

A prison has been on the site of Ruthin Gaol in one form since the 17th century and prior to becoming the County Gaol it was used as a ‘holding area’ for those unfortunate to have committed crimes that warranted severe punishment…

In 1866 the Gaol became a four storey Pentonville style building – helping to fit even more ruth2Smalltroubled men, women and children within its walls.  Many executions took place within the Gaol itself and life inside the prison was hard with most inmates living off a diet of gruel and water.   Some of the prison guards made life even harder for the inmates – including one who just disappeared and to this day no one knows where he went… Will you find out?  Could the answer lie within the Dark Cell?

gaol_6SmallThe last execution took place in 1903 and after that the number of paranormal incidents reported in the Gaol increased.   There are stories of doors slamming shut and voices heard in areas of the Gaol when no one was present, the giggling sound of a young child has also been heard, shadows have been seen and the keys of the prison guards long since gone can still be heard today…

This is a venue that is unnerving and active in the daylight hours – do you dare to enter it in the dark?
